Bridging the Ohio

In honor of John Roebling and the Roebling Suspension Bridge, Covington will be celebrating with the annual Roebling Fest. This bridge is among the most recognizable, beautiful, and iconic landmarks in the region. It was the first major link between Kentucky and Ohio at this point along the Ohio River, and it still stands as a symbol of the essential interrelationship between the communities on both sides of the river. The Roebling Bridge predates John's more famous monument, the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, and was groundbreaking when built in the 1860s.

I love this bridge and hope you get a chance to celebrate at Roebling Fest this Saturday!
